Ata is a fern, which grows on tall trees in the humid forests of middle Bali, usually near water.  The very finely hand-woven baskets are smoked over a honey and coconut fire, which gives them their rich caramel color. They are very strong and will give years of use.

These tiny baskets are what is left of Lou Zeldis's collections and are beautiful as tiny displayed pieces of art.
